In 1985 three young engineers found themselves out of work after OAK Industries closed their European satellite communication system operation. They decided to continue the development of communication electronics independently, through their company Verklizan, which they had already founded in 1983.
After a period of wandering in different directions, the growth of the company resulted in the construction of both office blocks in Sliedrecht, where Verklizan is still located to this day.
Over the years, Verklizan has grown into a skilful and dynamic development bureau with a proven track record of realising turnkey solutions to high value projects, with the help of the latest technical support…. [ More ]
Verklizan first became involved with the healthcare sector in the early 1990s, as a result of the demand for a universal call centre receiver for personal emergency alarms. For Verklizan, this development meant entry into a rapidly changing market. Through the sharp rise of the aging population, Verklizan saw possibilities to further develop the UMO into a multi-functional care unit, able to offer a wide range of care services in people’s homes, leaving the independent universal character intact.
It soon became apparent that there existed an equally large opportunity for a care centre concept with a universal platform beyond the Netherlands. In 2000, Verklizan started its research into foreign markets, which resulted in the opening of a German branch in 2003, a Spanish branch in 2006, a UK branch in 2008, a French site in 2016 and an US site. Nowadays, Verklizan’s UMO activities spread out into eighteen different countries.
